"Sunny Prestatyn" became famous for it's beach, clean sea and promenade entertainers in the 19th and 20th centuries. Although Prestatyn remains a tourist destination the opening of big name shops and supermarkets as well as the new Scala Cinema has brought a breath of fresh life into the resort.
Prestatyn is considered as the northern gateway for walking in North Wales, it not only boasts the start ( or End ) of the Offas Dyke National trail but also features the North Wales path. The town has been awarded the Walkers are Welcome accreditation.
During the Second World War the holiday camps in Prestatyn were used as billets for British Soldiers. Despite being close to Liverpool the area was never bombed.
Prestatyn hosts the qualifying tournament for many Snooker tournaments at the Pontin's Holiday Centre, which was also the location for the 1973 movie of the popular British TV series, On The Buses.

Bridlewood Riding Centre is situated just outside of Prestatyn, the riding centre is well placed in beautiful surroundings. You can enjoy a relaxed countryside location and direct access to the local beach using their own private bridlepath.
